Ideas to Host A Memorable And Unique Rehearsal Dinners In Your Wedding

Your rehearsal dinner is a celebration where you can relax and enjoy the beginning of your wedding festivities. The parents of the groom would traditionally host a rehearsal dinner, but it is now acceptable for the bride and groom to host it together, or let several other people help in hosting it. These ideas should help you host a unique and memorable rehearsal dinner.

                      Unique Rehearsal Dinners

  • Pick a different menu and style. If your wedding is formal with a sit-down dinner, make the rehearsal dinner, casual and laid-back, so everyone can enjoy themselves.

  • Rehearsal dinners are not necessarily formal events. You can keep it casual, fun, and lively. Don’t be afraid to choose a fun theme such as a Hawaiian Luau, a Mexican fiesta, a barbecue party, a nautical dinner, a clam bake perhaps, or even a luxurious picnic. You could even choose a theme that is based on your favorite movie, comic book, or TV show, and ask guests to arrive in costume.

  • If you prefer a more straightforward rehearsal dinner, book a sit-down dinner at a restaurant with a private room. Arrange this with the restaurant so you can add personal touches such as a buffet and a cocktail hour.

  • Introduce everyone who was invited and say something personal and unique about each guest. That should be a good icebreaker for guests from both sides of your families.

  • A rehearsal dinner can be your opportunity to thank your guests and give them tokens for agreeing to attend your upcoming wedding. It should also be an opportunity to show off video clips and home movies of the bride and groom when they were young.

  • Surprise the groom with a cake. Make sure the cake is designed according to the groom's interests or hobby.
