Wedding Budget Using Bride And Groom Funding For A Happy Wedding

Dec 26, 2012 | Posted by:  abi s

With things like the free wedding planning apps for iPad and iPhone and the wedding budget calculator it is easier to keep track of your wedding budget but in this modern time it is not always so clear about who will be doing the funding.

In times past the brides family purchased wedding dresses and wedding jewelry or it was handed down as a legacy. Just as bridal dresses have changed with the times so has the funding source for the wedding. It is more common today that the bride and groom to foot the bill for their own nuptials.

They sit down and decide the budget for the wedding together and how much each can add to the pot. Then they approach the families with a detailed lists of items and costs to see if they would like to help out. With the way finances have been of late, the price getting married has almost doubled. That being said, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the incomes. If parents can’t help with the finances the budget will have to be redone and concessions made.

Planning a wedding on a shoestring budget is possible, there are many blogs and forums that offer great ideas as to how to
achieve this. Look at the items that will cost.

                            wedding bride and groom
- Reception costs, including food, music, wedding ceremony decorations, rental fees and entertainment
- Ceremony costs including venues rental fees and decorations
- Flowers for ceremony and reception
- The bride’s wedding dresses and accessories
- Invitations, Notifications, programs, and mailing costs
- Favors
- Photography/videography
- Their own attire and travel expenses
- The rehearsal dinner, including food, wedding invitations, decorations and entertainment
- Their own attire and travel expenses
- A wedding present
- The groom’s wedding rings
- A wedding gift for the groom
- Her hair, makeup, beauty treatments
- Gifts for her attendants
- In the events accommodation for any out-of-town bridesmaids
- The marriage license
- The bridal engagement ring and wedding ring
- The honeymoon
- A wedding gift for the bride
- The bride’s bouquet
- Gifts for his attendants
- Boutonnieres in the wedding party
- In the events accommodation for any out-of-town groomsmen
- Fee for the officiant

Now that you have an idea of what goes into planning a great wedding, you can figure out what items matter the most and cut your wedding budget accordingly. Many brides and grooms are of a mind that the tradition leaves one or both parents in financial hardship and they are doing it for themselves, although willing to accept the purchase of the dress or reception venue from them.
