BACKGROUND OF THE UNITY CIRCLE: I am a mother of two and step-mom of three. We were looking for a unique way of including all of our children in the wedding ceremony. The wedding was on a beach, and other options just wouldn’t work.

I wanted everyone to feel equal, and have a significant part in the ceremony.

I felt our marriage was more than a commitment to each other, it was a commitment to our children as well.

DESCRIPTION OF USE: Each section represents each person in the family

Starting with the Bride:she joins her section to one of the children’s; at this point 2 sections are joined, each child continues in the same manner. The groom is the last to add his. The final loop and knot are to be joined together by the Bride and the Groom. Joining the family as one and creating the Unity Circle.
