About the Officiant/Minister

Rev. O
staszewski, is a state licensed nondenominational officiant/minister of The United Fellowship Of Faith organization, performs both religious and non-religious ceremonies. He has the experience, demeanor, style and spiritual warmth to keep your wedding memorable. He also provides "pre marriage" and "post marriage" counseling. Your wedding should be treated with elegance, respect and honor and conducted in the way that is right for you.

Each wedding service is unique and every effort is made to ensure that the service is created and tailored specifically to your needs. You will have the ability to discuss your ideas and suggestions of your ceremony. Rev. Ostaszewski likes to get to know you, so that your special day is built around your own visions and traditions. You will have the freedom of reviewing a wide range of creative ideas. This is your wedding and you will have full control with his guidance and direction, throughout the entire process. Upon request, a "Wedding Ceremony Guide" book will be provided during the initial consultation. This is a comprehensive guide for couples planning a wedding.

Marriage Ceremony Basics

The ceremony is the cornerstone of the wedding, the reason you've all gathered together. There are so many ways to make the ceremony about the two of you, your families, your cultural heritage, and your traditions, from vows to readings to discreet, personal gestures meant for you and your immediate family. The planning starts with decisions about the type of ceremony (religious or civil) and type of officiant/minister, both very big questions where most families are concerned. And if it's religious, will it adhere to a particular faith, combine elements of two faiths, or be spiritual but nondemoninational? Normal ceremonies usually last 15, 30 to 45 minutes in length, based upon the decisions of the bride and groom.
A few basic elements are listed below:

Welcome of Guests
Prayer and/or Invocation (optional)
Presentation of the Bride
Encouragement to the Couple (and their guests) Concerning Marriage
Declaration of Intent (legally required)
Exchange of Rings

Unity Candle or other additions
Blessing Upon this Marriage

Pronouncement of Marriage
Wedding Kiss
Presentation of the Married Couple

Suggestions For Wedding Basics:

First, you can create a ceremony where the marriage incorporates specific religious and cultural traditions, as mutually agreed to by the couple.

The second option, you can create a ceremony that is traditional, often spiritual, but not bound by any particular culture or religion. Certainly when one enters marriage, this will be one of the largest decisions you will make. It includes another person, the community and, possibly, children. It will brining more awareness of the past highlights of your time together before marriage and creates the foundation of your vows and the promise of your future. Remember however, that ceremonies are usually designed for celebration more than tradition. Make this ceremony uniquely yours in every way!

The third option is creating a ceremony that is completely unique to your own vision. This creative ceremony as visualized and created by the couple, with non-traditional elements can create lifetime lasting memories. While creating this type of ceremony, you will still need to be aware of embracing some traditions and culture that you and your mate can incorporate, while bringing peace and warmth to both families involved.
